Paramount Pictures has made a blind script commitment to developing a new movie based on the popular Hasbro brand, "Transformers".

Marco Ramirez is set to write the script, which will be directed by Angel Manuel Soto, who directed 2020's "Charm City Kings".

Details about the upcoming production are being kept secret, but it is known that the project will be apart of the universe of the mainline of "Transformers" films that the studio has been making since 2007. The franchise includes five Michael Bay-directed movies and the Bumblebee spinoff directed by Travis Knight.

Paramount along with eOne is now an inactive duty on a seventh Transformers project, which is being directed by Stephen Caple Jr.

The project is in early development and it is unclear who will produce it.

Ramirez is known for his work on series such as "Sons of Anarchy" and "Daredevil", the latter allowed him to leap to co-showrunner and co-creator status on "Defenders", which acted as a culmination of sorts for the Marvel shows that included "Daredevil", "Jessica Jones", "Luke Cage", and "Iron Fist".
