On Wednesday, the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, headed by Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, held a meeting to discuss a number of archaeological projects, scheduled to be inaugurated in the coming months.
These projects include the restoration of the southern tomb in Saqqara, the Palace of Mohammed Ali in Shubra, the Mosque of Altinbugha al-Maridani in historic Cairo, and Wakalat Al-Giddawi in Isna. It was agreed during the meeting that the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board will promote these upcoming archaeological events.
The Board also agreed to postpone the decision to increase new prices for foreigners' entry to archaeological sites and museums until May 2022., as part of the Ministry's policy to support cultural tourism and encourage one-day trips from Red Sea cities to the Nile Valley.
