The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced that Egypt will witness a severe heatwave starting from today. Temperatures will rise steadily across most regions.
The temperature in Cairo is expected to reach 39°C, marking the first day of intense summer conditions.
According to the latest satellite data, the weather will be extremely hot and humid in most areas, while the northern coasts will experience hot, humid conditions.
Light drizzles are possible over parts of the far northwestern coast at intervals, with light to moderate rain expected in parts of central and southern Sinai.
The weather will be warm and humid at night and in the early morning.
Dr. Mahmoud Shaheen, Director of Forecasting and Early Warning at the Meteorological Authority, noted that low and medium clouds may form over parts of northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo. Elevated humidity levels will make temperatures feel 2–4°C higher than recorded in the shade.
Maritime navigation will also be affected, with wind speeds ranging between 40–50 km/h in parts of the Gulf of Suez and waves rising between 2–3 meters.
