On Friday, French Agriculture Minister Julien Denormandie expressed that the new bird flu strain, H5N8, is dramatically outbreaking across France, adding that the state discovered almost 124 spots of the new virus including 119 in Landes district only.

Moreover, more than 400,000 ducks were culled. Denormandie explained that "There will be hundreds of thousands more, that's certain," describing this massive cull as "a race against the clock" against the "highly pathogenic" H5N8 virus according to French media agencies.

In the same context, French producers called for more protective measures amid the spread of the severe strain as they asserted the virus outbreak in France is out of control.

Regarding the expected number of the cull ducks, he revealed that he had no any idea how many ducks would remain among the five million produced ducks in the most suffering French region, Landes,

The producers are somehow afraid of repeating the massive bird flu outbreak that occurred in 2016 which left more than 25 million ducks culled.

In the same context, Belgium announced the new strain was detected in three flocks that were culled. Also, Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Sweden detected more cases.
