Minister State for Immigration and Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram communicated with Egyptian ambassador in Morocco Ashraf Ibrahim to closely follow up the reasons behind the death of Egyptian nuclear scientist Abu Bakr Abdel Moneim Ramadan, head of the National Radiation Observatory Network at the Egyptian Nuclear and Radio-logical Regulatory Authority.
On his part, the Egyptian ambassador said that the nuclear Scientist died Last Thursday after suffering a severe health disorder inside his room at Agdal hotel in Marrakesh.
He said, "Ramadan was participating in a meeting organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency in Morocco and has been since the beginning of September."
The Egyptian ambassador added, "The Egyptian scientist went to his room, and it seems that when he was very tired, he opened the door of his room in the hotel, and someone passed by the hotel and found him on the bed and he says (no oxygen, no oxygen?).
"He was taken to the hospital By the hotel doctor and died in the hospital.”
He pointed out that the Moroccan public prosecution conducted an autopsy of Ramadan’s body and unveiled that the Egyptian scientist died of a heart attack.
On the other hand, Makram, confirmed that coordination with the Moroccan authorities and the International Atomic Energy Agency is underway to finalize administrative procedures and return the body of the deceased back to Egypt.
The Egyptian expert reportedly participated in official meetings with Arab environment ministers in 2014 and was commissioned, along with other experts, in 2015 to study the potential effects of the Bushehr nuclear reactors in Iran and Dimona in Israel.
