New Cabinet Members Swearing-In to Take Place in Minutes

In few minutes, the new cabinet members will swear-in before President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at Al Ittahadiyah Palace in Heliopolis. 

On Tuesday, government sources revealed comprehensive details of Egypt's upcoming cabinet reshuffle, set to be announced on Wednesday, July 3. The reshuffle, led by the presidency, involves merging certain ministries and creating new ones, impacting many ministerial and gubernatorial positions.

The sources confirmed that approximately 20 ministerial portfolios will be affected. This extensive reshuffle includes appointing national talents with international expertise for several key positions. Notably, changes will occur in education, supply, finance, agriculture, justice, and social solidarity ministries. Additionally, there will be comprehensive changes within the government's economic team, including the ministries of petroleum and electricity.

New Cabinet Appointments

The new cabinet lineup includes:

General Mohamed Ahmed Zaki as Minister of Defense and Military Production.

Major General Mahmoud Tawfik Kandil as Minister of Interior.

Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport.

Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Presidential Advisor, as Minister of Awqaf, succeeding Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa.

Justice Adnan Al-Fangari, President of the Alexandria Court of Appeal, as Minister of Justice, succeeding Counselor Omar Marwan.

Dr. Mohamed Abdel Latif as Minister of Education, succeeding Dr. Reda Hegazy.

Dr. Ahmed Kojak, Deputy Minister of Finance, as Minister of Finance, succeeding Dr. Mohamed Maait.

Dr. Sherif Farouk, President of the National Postal Authority, as Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, succeeding Dr. Ali Moselhy.

Dr. Maya Morsy as Minister of Social Solidarity, succeeding Dr. Nevine El-Qabbaj.

Counselor Mahmoud Fawzi as Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs.

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has tasked Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly with forming a new government comprising individuals with outstanding skills and expertise. The new government is expected to focus on several key objectives, including maintaining Egypt's national security in light of regional and international challenges, prioritizing human development, particularly in health and education, and continuing efforts to enhance political participation, security, stability, and counter-terrorism.

The president's directives for the new government also include pursuing economic reforms with an emphasis on attracting and increasing domestic and foreign investments, encouraging private sector growth, and making concerted efforts to curb inflation and stabilize markets.
