In a significant move towards reinforcing bilateral ties, the Netherlands has inked a 10-year security pact with Ukraine, underscoring a robust commitment to supporting the Eastern European nation amidst ongoing regional tensions.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, through a statement on the social platform "X", conveyed that this agreement assures Ukraine of the Netherlands' unwavering support and engagement not only in defense cooperation but also in broader security domains.

Rutte emphasized the solidarity of the Netherlands with Ukraine, alongside a broad international coalition of like-minded countries, in the face of challenges posed by external aggressions.

Highlighting the symbolic importance of his visit, Rutte, alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, toured Kharkiv—a city that has witnessed severe adversities due to aerial bombardments aimed at its annihilation.

This landmark agreement marks a pivotal chapter in Ukraine-Netherlands relations, promising a decade of strategic partnership and mutual support in defense and security matters, bolstering Ukraine's resilience against ongoing threats, and affirming the Netherlands' role as a key ally in the region.
