“Ma Waraa Al Tabiaa” marks Netflix’s third Middle East original series following “Jinn”, and “Al Rawabi School for Girls”.

The series is based on the horror/thriller novels “Ma Waraa Al Tabiaa” by late renowned Egyptian novelist, Ahmed Khaled Tawfik, who was known for his contributions to Arab horror.

The plot revolves around the adventures of Rifaat Ismail, a hematologist, (played by Najm), who narrates the supernatural occurrences that he experienced in Egypt in the 1960s. Ismail’s supernatural adventures began in his late 30s, despite all of the events are supernatural-related events, there were some caused by human culprits.

He usually solves the mystery, while accompanied by many friends and inpiduals, however, some events will be more centered around them, even so, some will be narrated by them.

Najm’s casting had sparked controversy on social media as many people cast their doubts over his ability to play the role.

“Ma Waraa Al Tabiaa” will feature stunning supernatural scenes with powerful techniques and special effects that complement the actors’ outstanding performance.
