The famous American production company Netflix claimed worldwide distribution rights to Idris Elba’s new film “Concrete Cowboy”.
The film’s world premiere was at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13th, 2020 and while Netflix did not announce the official release date yet, it is set to be debuted in 2021.
“Concrete Cowboy” is an American Western drama film based on the novel “Ghetto Cowboy” by Greg Neri and written by Ricky Staub and Dan Walser. It is also directed by Ricky Staub and produced by Tucker Tooley Entertainment, Green Door Pictures, Lee Daniels Entertainment and Neighborhood Film Co.
The film is about a 15-year-old teenage boy from Detroit who is forced to live with his estranged father in North Philadelphia. The troubled teen is then torn between his life of crime and the vibrant urban-cowboy culture of his father.
The film stars Idris Elba as the estranged father Harp, Stranger Things’ Caleb McLaughlin as the troubled teen Cole, Lorraine Toussaint as Nessie, Jharrel Jerome as Smush and Byron Bowers as Rome.
