Hebrew media revealed, on Sunday, that the Israeli General Security Service, "Shabak", has prepared an underground hideout in Jerusalem, where senior leaders can stay for a long time during the war.

According to the Hebrew news website Walla, the Shin Bet has prepared an underground command bunker in Jerusalem for the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and security leaders to take refuge in, amid anticipation of an Iranian attack.

The report says the bunker can withstand attacks from a range of current weapons, has command and control capabilities, and is connected to the Israeli Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv.

Channel 12 reported last Thursday that the Israeli Shin Bet security service had raised the level of security for Netanyahu and government ministers in anticipation of an Iranian response to the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh.

Amidst the growing risks of the conflict in the Middle East expanding after the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah military leader Fouad Shukr in the southern suburbs of Beirut, followed by a wave of threats of “revenge” against Israel.

The American website "Axios" quoted 3 American and Israeli officials as saying that Iran is expected to attack Israel tomorrow, Monday.

Officials added that they did not know whether Iran and Hezbollah would launch a coordinated attack or operate separately.

Two US officials told Axios that the US general in charge of US forces in the Middle East arrived in the region on Saturday as preparations continue for a possible attack on Israel by Iran in response to the assassination of senior Hamas and Hezbollah leaders.

A US official said Gen. Michael Kurilla's visit to the region was planned before the recent escalation between Israel, Iran and Hezbollah, but he is expected to use the trip to try to rally the same international and regional coalition that defended Israel against an attack by Iran on April 13.
