Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet with U.S. Secretary of State and envoy Amos Hochstein ahead of his upcoming talks at the White House with President Donald Trump.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Netanyahu plans to request President Trump's approval for launching new airstrikes on Iran if Tehran attempts to move enriched uranium from the sites targeted by U.S. airstrikes last month.
The newspaper cited an unnamed official stating that the goal is to secure a mandate similar to the arrangement in Lebanon—meaning that if any suspicious activity is detected at Iranian nuclear sites, or if there is evidence of uranium being moved from the previously bombed locations, pre-approved U.S. authorization for military action would be in place.
