Netanyahu Receives 1st Dose of Coronavirus Vaccine

Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu received the first dose of the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) vaccine at Sheba Hospital in Tel Aviv, and the vaccination process was broadcasted live.

Israeli Army Radio reported, this evening, Saturday that "Netanyahu received the Corona vaccine, as the first Israeli to be vaccinated against the virus, accompanied by Health Minister Yuli Edelstein."

The radio reported that Netanyahu expressed his happiness at receiving the vaccine.

He  said that it  is a very big day for   Israel, and this is the beginning of the exit from the Corona pandemic."

On his part, Edelstein said, "The vaccine is safe."

The Israeli website "I24 NEWS" confirmed that as of next  Monday, the elderly and residents of high-risk groups will be able to receive vaccinations in the local HMOs after setting an appointment with the doctor."

The vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus will start in Israel next Sunday, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will receive the vaccine before that.

According to the information, Netanyahu and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein will open the campaign by receiving the vaccine on Saturday.

Last Monday, Netanyahu announced that he would be subject to quarantine until Friday, after coming into contact with one of those infected with the Coronavirus.

The first shipment of the two thousand doses of the Coronavirus vaccine arrived in Israel on December 9, and it is produced by the American company "Fire."

Netanyahu said that he looks forward to the vaccination getting the necessary permits in the coming days, and he wants the citizens of Israel to receive the vaccination. For this purpose, I want to set an example for them as I intend to be the first citizen to receive this vaccination in the State of Israel."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he will be subject to quarantine until Friday, after coming into contact with a person infected with the emerging coronavirus.

Netanyahu was under quarantine as he met with   Likud court chief Michael Kleiner who was infected with the Coronavirus, a few days ago.
