Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the Tel Aviv District Court on Wednesday to attend his fourth trial in the corruption cases against him.
Today's session focuses on the case known as "Case 4000," in which Netanyahu is accused of receiving favorable media coverage from the Walla website in exchange for securing privileges for the Bezeq telecommunications company owned by Shaul Elovitch.
Netanyahu faces three main charges:
Case 1000: Relates to Netanyahu and his family receiving expensive gifts such as luxury cigars and jewelry from wealthy businessmen in exchange for facilitation and assistance in personal and business matters.
Case 2000: Negotiating with the publisher of the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, Arnon Mozes, to obtain positive coverage in exchange for restricting the competing newspaper Israel Hayom.
Case 4000: The accusation relates to Netanyahu's relationship with Shaul Elovitch, the owner of Bezeq and the Walla website. The case is considered the most important because it includes direct accusations of bribery and abuse of power.
