The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NEMC) in Fustat is promoting the concept of a green environment, green practices, and the recycling process through a new exhibit titled "City of Dreams."

The exhibit displays a model of an environmentally friendly city designed by a team of people with disabilities from the Friends of the NEMC's Museum and the Dalil Association.

In a statement, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Museum Authority, explained that the purpose of the project is to present a vision of an integrated city based entirely on recycling using environmentally friendly materials as a future vision for sustainable cities.

He noted that the project also highlights the importance of recycling and taking steps to reduce the severity of climate change.

The team members reviewed the materials used in the project work and provided a detailed explanation of each part of the city and its function to make it an integrated city with all the services that citizens need.

Dr. Maha Sweilem, Director of the Museum’s Training Department, emphasized the Museum’s commitment to providing workshops and educational and artistic activities for members of the community with disabilities to learn about Egyptian civilization, raise awareness among all members of society, and enhance their knowledge of green practices.

The Friends of the Museum team and their families expressed their happiness for the opportunity to present their project inside the museum and to participate in its activities.

Samar Hasballah, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Dalil Al Khair Development Association, expressed her happiness to participate in these important activities and to organize many workshops on recycling and agriculture within this cultural and civilizational edifice, which contributed to consolidating and developing the idea.
