The Israeli Mossad, the chief agency for espionage, announced on Saturday that the negotiating team that was in Qatar had received an order to return to Israel after negotiations with Hamas on extending the truce reached a "dead end."

A statement issued by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on behalf of Mossad said: “Due to the impasse in the negotiations, Mossad Chief David Barnea ordered the negotiating team in Doha to return home.”

According to Israeli media, the return of the Mossad team from Qatar and the resumption of the aggression against Gaza is considered a message that “there will be no negotiations without a full return to the agreed upon plan, that is, the release of women and children.”

Earlier today, Reuters reported from an informed source that a team from the Israeli Mossad was in Doha on Saturday to discuss resuming the truce in Gaza with Qatari mediators.
