On Wednesday, the UK government announced that nearly 138,000 people received the coronavirus vaccine last week.
In a post on "Twitter", the newly-appointed vaccine Minister Nadhim Zahawi said: “A really good start to the vaccination program.”
He added that, over the last seven days, 108,000 doses were taken in England, 7,897 in Wales, 4,000 in Northern Ireland, and 18,000 in Scotland.
Zahawi confirmed that 137,897 vaccines have been offered throughout the UK so far.
