NCW President, Turkish Minister of Family & Social Services Discuss Co-op

Counselor Amal Ammar, President of National Council for Women (NCW), met with Mahinur Özdemir, Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, on the sidelines of her participation as head of the Egyptian delegation at the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) at the United Nations.

The session, held in March, focuses on the review and assessment of progress in the Beijing Platform for Action +30.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the areas of women's economic and social empowerment and protection from violence, particularly cyber violence.

They exchanged insights on progress made in combating violence against women and advancing women's empowerment in both countries.

Additionally, the discussion explored cooperation within the framework of Egypt and Turkey's membership in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), with the possibility of organizing seminars to showcase Egyptian and Turkish experiences in women's empowerment.

The meeting also addressed collaboration between women's committees in both countries' parliaments to exchange expertise and strengthen Egyptian-Turkish relations.
