Jens Stoltenberg , Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) said on Wednesday that the gains made by Ukraine during the recent period will strengthen its position at the negotiating table with Russia.
Stoltenberg added in a press conference: "It is too early to talk about the Ukrainian counterattack, and we do not know if this will be a turning point in the war, but the greater the Ukrainian gains, the stronger its position at the negotiating table."
He stressed the need to ensure "there are arrangements to preserve Ukraine's security when the war ends."
He pointed out that the "next NATO summit in Vilnius (Lithuania) will make it clear that Ukraine's future is in the alliance."
It is worth noting that Ukraine is seeking NATO membership to face the security threats posed by Russia from the east.
