NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the conflict in Ukraine "may be repeated in the same scenario in Asia" between China and Taiwan.
"China is following lessons with interest, and this affects its decisions. What is happening today in Europe may happen tomorrow in Asia," Stoltenberg said during a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Washington.
"China is significantly strengthening its armed forces, including nuclear capabilities, without any transparency. It is trying to control the South China Sea and threatening Taiwan," Stoltenberg said.
The NATO Secretary General expressed the alliance's concern about strengthening relations between China and Russia.
The Secretary-General of NATO's visit to Washington on the eve of the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels, which will be held on February 14 and 15.
