NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg expected, Friday, that NATO leaders would "Reaffirm that Ukraine will become a member of NATO and unite on how to bring Ukraine closer to its goal."
Speaking at a news conference ahead of the NATO summit in Vilnius, Stoltenberg reflected that NATO supports Ukraine against Russia, and is ready to “send a clear message, NATO stands united and Russia's aggression will not pay off.”
He also revealed that the alliance would adopt more measures to support Ukraine and make it stronger.
During the summit, the alliance leaders will approve a multi-year assistance program “to ensure full interoperability” between the Ukrainian army and NATO, in addition to organizing a NATO-Ukraine Council.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to participate in the first meeting of the crisis-solution platform.
