The air forces of NATO and its allied countries have begun to carry out military exercises in the skies of the Baltic states.
A statement issued by the press service center of the headquarters of the Estonian Defense Forces said today, Monday, that the exercises of the NATO Air Force, which bear the name "Ramstein Alloy" and will last for 4 days, have begun.
The main purpose of the exercises is to ensure the security of the airspace of the Baltic states and conduct communications and procedures control.
Training will also be conducted on cases of loss of communication, escorting aircraft, and identifying search and rescue operations.
In addition to French and Spanish fighters that are stationed at the Imari air base in Estonia and Šiauliai in Lithuania, Finnish, German, Swedish, Czech, British, and Turkish fighters will participate in the maneuvers.

The "Ramstein Alloy" exercises have been held since 2008, 3 times a year, and NATO combat aircraft carry out a periodic mission to protect the airspace of the Baltic states.
