Report: How National Alliance Supports Economic Empowerment of People of Determination?

Within the framework of the "Wasl Al Khair 2" initiative, the National Alliance launched its first activities for economic empowerment of people of determination in a major celebration organized by Orman in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

In implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the National Alliance for Civil Development Action launched, Tuesday, the first activities of the Alliance for the economic empowerment of people of determination, within the framework of implementing the “Wasl Al Khair 2 Initiative."

It's implemented under the umbrella of the participatory work of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action, where Orman Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, held a major celebration in order to distribute 150 fully equipped booths, and hand them over to the beneficiaries- 150 citizens of people of determination from different categories of disabilities, as part of the efforts of the National Alliance.

The economic empowerment axis is considered one of the most important axes of the Wasl Al Khair 2 initiative, as a budget of LE 1.1 billion has been allocated from the budget of the coalition members, for economic empowerment projects for families in need until the end of this year.

This comes within the framework of the presidential initiative "A Decent Life", and in implementation of the directives of President Sisi to support people of determination with care and create suitable job opportunities for them.

This came during a major celebration in the presence of Nevin Al-Kabbag, Minister of Social Solidarity, Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, Major General Mamdouh Shaaban, Director of the Orman Association, Mahmoud Fouad, Deputy Director of the Society, Noha Talaat, Secretary of the Alliance, Ohoud Wafi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of A Decent Life Foundation, in addition to representatives of coalition members from the Magdy Yacoub Foundation, the Justice and Support Foundation, the Arabi Foundation, the Coptic Evangelical Commission and CARE Foundation.

It is worth noting that the National Alliance for Civil Development Work was launched on March 13, 2022, with the participation of major civil and development institutions in Egypt.

It includes 24 associations, civil institutions and service and development entities, including the General Federation of NGOs and Institutions, which includes in its membership 30 specific federations and 27 regional federations, which work in various fields of development in their persity of service, health, awareness, educational, urban, and others.

The National Alliance includes the General Union of Associations and NGOs, the Foundation for a Decent Life, the Egyptian House of Zakat and Charity Foundation, the Al-Jude Charitable Foundation, the Orman Association, the Egyptian Food Bank, the Misr Al-Khair Foundation, the Magdi Yacoub Foundation, the National Cancer Institute in all its branches, the Coptic Evangelical Authority, Baheya Foundation, the Ahl Masr Foundation, the Life Makers, the Resala Association, Al-Bakyat al-Salehat Association, the Liver Patient Care Association, Cairo University Hospitals, Al-Arabi Foundation for Community Development, the Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud Association, the Good Makers Foundation, the Care Foundation, the Justice and Support Foundation and Aboul Enein Association.

In May, the National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW) held its seventh meeting in a series of upcoming meetings to determine the priorities of how to strengthen the social protection umbrella.

Accordingly, and in order to ensure that support reaches its beneficiaries among the citizens in need and those most affected by the critical global economic situation, the National Alliance has begun to develop an integrated plan aimed at supporting the social protection umbrella from its date until the end of this year, by maximizing the benefit from the monetary support provided by the Egyptian state to the Alliance estimated at LE 9 billion.
