Natalie Portman to Star in Movie "Days of Abandonment"

Academy Award–winning actress Natalie Portman has signed on to play the leading role of the upcoming HBO movie “The Days of Abandonment”.

The movie is currently in pre-production and is based on the Elena Ferrante novel of the same name.

Maggie Betts will write and direct the adaptation, which revolves around Tess (Portman), a woman who abandoned her own dreams for stable home life, is in turn abandoned by her husband, her world is thrown off its axis.

Furthermore, Portman is also set to star in the Apple limited series “Lady in the Lake”, which is based on the novel of the same name by Laura Lipman.

The actress will star in that project opposite fellow Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o.
