The “Nasser International Leadership” Fellowship Second Cohort organized Saturday a visit to Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The Participating delegations were accompanied by Hassan Ghazali, Coordinator General of the Nasser Fellowship.

The visit came on the 12th day of the Fellowship Program, which is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the National Training Academy, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other national institutions, under the auspices of His Excellency President of the Arab Republic of Egypt/Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

It is scheduled to last until mid-June 2021. The Nasser Program hosts distinguished young leaders from Asia, Africa and Latin America.

During their visit to the BA, the youth delegations learned about the history of the establishment of the library and its great heritage. They toured the library and saw the artifacts and art objects placed on the walls of the library, which tell the story of Egypt’s pharaonic history and symbolize societal peace and interfaith tolerance.

From their part, the tour guides of the BA gave a presentation on Egypt’s history, showing its various cultures and civilizations. The youth delegations also visited the Museum of the late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, a hero of war and peace, and saw the late leader’s collectables and official military uniform.

The “Nasser” delegations expressed their happiness with the visit to Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the beacon of knowledge, as well as their great appreciation for Egypt and its people. At the end of their visit, they took several group photos at the BA to capture their happy memories.

Hassan Ghazali, Coordinator General of the Nasser Fellowship, explained that this fellowship was one of the executive mechanisms for Objective 8 of Egypt Vision 2030: “Strengthening Egyptian Leadership”. The national Agenda ensures to link its development goals with the international goals on the one hand, and the regional agenda on the other hand, especially the Africa Agenda 2063. After successfully restoring stability, the goal of strengthening Egypt’s position and leadership at the regional and international levels has become a necessity to advance comprehensive development. This can be achieved through many mechanisms, including supporting and strengthening regional and international partnerships. Thus, the fellowship was themed South-South Cooperation”.

The Nasser International Leadership Fellowship aims to popularize Egypt’s longstanding experience in national institution-building, create a new generation of young transformational leaders -whose vision aligns with the directions of the Egyptian presidency- in various countries, and connect the most influential young leaders through the necessary training, skills enhancement and application of strategic visions, added Ghazali.
