Nassar, Exports Council Review New Export Mechanism (Photos)

Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar announced on Thursday that the executive mechanism of the new export support program has been finalized and approved recently by the the export development fund board of directors.

The new program is scheduled to come into force at the beginning of fiscal year 2019/2020.

“Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli will hold an extended meeting with heads of export councils within the coming few days to approve the final executive mechanism of the program,” Nassar announced.

“The last period witnessed a close cooperation between the government and the business community to reach the final form of the new mechanism,” the minister added. “The new program represents a key pillar towards the implementation of the Ministry's plan to increase export rates as well as to improve the competitiveness of Egyptian products in domestic and foreign markets.”

This comes during a meeting held between Trade minister and heads of exports council on Thursday to review the most important features of the new program.

The meeting was attended by the minister advisor for small and medium projects Hossam Farid, Head of the commercial Representation Authority Ahmed Antar, and Chairman of the export development authority ambassador Khaled Youssef.
