NASA released a collection of unique photos showing a series of massive blasts on the Sun.
The renowned institution, which is responsible for aeronautics and space research, also unraveled that the massive blasts led to the eruption of several particles into outer space and impacted the earth’s atmosphere also.
In a statement, Nasa said, "The Sun emitted a powerful solar flare, which affected the top of the Earth’s atmosphere, causing a shortwave radio blackout around the Indian Ocean. For some time, the blackout might have impacted the radio communications of aviators and mariners for some time. In the coming days, minor geomagnetic storms are expected to hit the Earth due to storm clouds."
Nasa noted that the blasts emit radiation containing radio waves, X-rays, and gamma rays across the length and breadth of the universe, hurtling them towards planets, including the Earth.
"These rays can also disturb the ionosphere region of the Earth, which plays an important role in radio communications," the statement explained.
It’s worth noting that a solar flare is an intense burst of radiation coming from the release of magnetic energy associated with sunspots in the form of an explosion.
