In the wake of the deadly port blast in Beirut, TikTok, Chinese popular video application, announced the postponement of Lebanese superstar Nancy Ajram's upcoming live show that was scheduled to take place on August 6.

Tik Tok extended its sincere condolences to the Lebanese people and affirmed that it stands in solidarity with them in their difficult hour.

On Tuesday, a huge explosion erupted at Beirut Port with a huge mushroom cloud that Lebanese officials said came from a stockpile of over 2,750 kilograms of ammonium nitrate in a warehouse at the port.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry announced on Thursday that the death toll from a massive explosion in the capital Beirut on Tuesday has climbed to 137, and at least 5,000 people have been wounded.

Beirut’s governor said 300,000 people have been left homeless. Damages are estimated at up to $5 billion.

The Lebanese government has declared on Wednesday a state of emergency for two weeks in Beirut in the wake of the devastating explosions rocked the capital.

During Lebanon’s cabinet meeting, an order was issued for putting an unspecified number of Beirut port officials under house arrest pending an investigation into how 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate came to be stored at the port for years.

The move comes amid speculation that negligence was to blame for the explosion.

On his part, Diab said that what happened “a great catastrophe that struck Lebanon,” adding that a quick process of repairing damages and providing urgent aid to help people has been initiated.

The prime minister also called upon “All political forces (Lebanese) to stop the confrontations and focus on addressing the repercussions of the explosion.”

On the other hand, The United Nations (UN) Security Council will hold an emergency meeting next Monday on the massive explosion. The session was requested by the Arab group to discuss the repercussions of this blast.

Last July, the Lebanese superstar joined the popular video application, becoming the latest celebrities to join the platform.

Recently, the Lebanese superstar had shared an adorable video with her daughters, Mila and Ella via Twitter account, as they constantly asked her to join Tiktok until she complied, which gained the admiration of her fans across the social network.

The video also featured Ajram’s youngest daughter Lya, who was born in 2019.

In 2008, the Lebanese superstar and El-Hachem tied the knot in an intimate ceremony amid the attendee of their family and friends in Cyprus, after a 3-year relationship.

Ajram’s latest artistic work is performing the theme song of TV series “Sukar Ziyada”.

She participated in the most significant Arabic festivals and won multiple awards, most importantly the 2008 World Music Award of best-selling Middle Eastern artist, the youngest Arab WMA winner to date, 2012 WMA for the second time, and 2014 WMA for the third time.

The artist is the first and only female sponsor and spokesperson of Coca-Cola in the Middle East and the Arab world.

Considered by many as an Arabic music icon of the decade, she was described on Oprah Winfrey show as one of the most influential personalities of the Middle East.

Furthermore, Grammy award-winning artist Billie Eilish gave a shoutout to Ajram during an episode of her podcast, “Me & Dad Radio” show on Apple Music, co-hosted by her father, U.S actor Patrick O’Connell.

The pair discuss and share music, unfiltered. Eilish revealed that she is a huge fan of Lebanese superstar, Nancy Ajram.

Eilish praised Ajram, saying: “The way she sings is so crazy. I think that the way that Arabic music sounds is just like melted chocolate; I love song and I love the melodies and I love the way she sings.”
