Nancy Ajram Postpones Album Release

Lebanese superstar Nancy Ajram fans who waited for her new album must wait a bit longer.

Ajram decided to postpone her upcoming album due to the current circumstances, whether if it is over the coronavirus or duo to Lebanon's political, economic situation.

She revealed in an interview with “The Insider Arabia” program broadcast on Dubai TV that she has already finished recording most of the songs.

Ajram added that she plans to release one song and film another as a music video for the time being.

She continued: "Nothing remains for the new album except recording two or 3 songs in the studio. The album contains many surprises".

She revealed that one of the songs entitled "Hayat," composed by Walid Saad.

Ajram's forthcoming new album entitled #Nancy10. The Lebanese recording artist’s latest album is “Hassa Beek”, which she released in 2017.

She is collaborating with the poet Shady Nour in two new songs that will appear on her new album.

The first song is composed by Bilal Sorour, and distributed by Hany Yacoub, while the second is composed by Mohamed Yehia.

Nancy Ajram addresses hosting more virtual concerts

On May 26, Ajram hosted a virtual concert on YouTube, in an attempt to uplift the people spirits with music during Eid al-Fitr.

The Lebanese superstar expressed her great happiness over the success of her latest concert, noting: " I received many positive reactions to the concert,"

Ajram stated that she still praised and receive many comments and messages about it, despite two weeks have passed since it took place.

The Lebanese superstar revealed that she is not preparing for any other concert at present due to the novel coronavirus.

"There are many ideas for hosting online concerts, but no decision has yet been taken," Ajram added.

The novel coronavirus was first reported in Wuhan, China, and has infected more than one million people and killed over 234,139 worldwide. It also hit several celebrities and top political figures around the world.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 800,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

Coronavirus can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.

It is known that older people appear to be more vulnerable to the effects of the emerging virus.

The virus caused complete paralysis in all activities and events with large gatherings worldwide due to concerns over the spread of the virus.

Ajram’s latest artistic work is performing the theme song of TV series “Sukar Ziyada”.

It is worth mentioning that Ajram, born on May 16, 1983, is a multi-platinum Lebanese singer and a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

In 1995, at the age of twelve, she participated in the Lebanese talent contest show, “Noujoum Al-Moustakbal” (Stars of the Future).

She won a gold medal in the “Tarab” category after singing a song by Umm Kulthum.

Ajram studied music with renowned Lebanese musicians and although she was less than 18, the syndicate of professional artists in Lebanon accepted her as a member. Her first singles were titled “Hobbak Allam Albi el Gheere” by Abdo Mounzer, and “Oulha Kelma Ala Shani”.

At the age of 15, Ajram released her first album, “Mihtagalak” (I Need You) in 1998, which was followed by Sheel Oyoonak Anni (“Stop Staring”) in 2000, which achieved more success.

She had sold over 2 million records by 2007, ranking third best selling female artist in Lebanese history.

The Lebanese recording artist has released eleven studio albums to date and appeared in numerous music videos and commercials.

She performed at most of the important Arabic festivals and won multiple awards, most importantly the 2008 World Music Award of best-selling Middle Eastern artist, and the WMA award, which she won three times.

Considered by many as an Arabic music icon of the decade, Ajram was described on Oprah Winfrey show as one of the most influential personalities of the Middle East.
