Lebanese superstar Nancy Ajram paid homage to Lebanon with her latest single “Ela Beirut Al Ontha”, which was released on more than one digital platform.

Ajram took to social media on Thursday to announce the release of her new single.

The single was composed by Hicham Boulos, and adopted from the 1981 poem “Ila Beirut Al Ontha” by great poet Nizar Qabbani.

It is worth mentioning that Ajram is a multi-platinum Lebanese singer and Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

She participated in the most significant Arabic festivals and won multiple awards, most importantly the 2008 World Music Award of best-selling Middle Eastern artist, the youngest Arab WMA winner to date, 2012 WMA for the second time, and 2014 WMA for the third time.

The artist is the first and only female sponsor and spokesperson of Coca-Cola in the Middle East and the Arab world.

Considered by many as an Arabic music icon of the decade, she was described on Oprah Winfrey show as one of the most influential personalities of the Middle East.

Furthermore, Grammy award-winning artist Billie Eilish is a huge fan of Ajram. She gave a shoutout to the Lebanese superstar during an episode of her podcast, “Me & Dad Radio” show on Apple Music, co-hosted by her father, U.S actor Patrick O’Connell.

The pair discuss and share music, unfiltered. Eilish praised Ajram, saying: “The way she sings is so crazy. I think that the way that Arabic music sounds is just like melted chocolate; I love song and I love the melodies and I love the way she sings.”
