Nancy Ajram, Ed Sheeran, Steven Spielberg, Annie Lennox, and Nile Rodgers are among the more than 100 celebrities that will take part in the "We for India: Saving Lives, Protecting Livelihoods".
The three-hour performance will be broadcast live via Facebook on August 15th at 9:30 a.m. ET.
The virtual fundraising event is co-produced by The World We Want and Reliance Entertainment and will feature stand-up comedy and musical performances, immersive fitness challenges, games, and messages of support.
It aims to raise $3.5 million for COVID-19 relief efforts. Viewers will have the ability to donate in real-time. All proceeds from the event, which is being hosted by Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, will be donated to GiveIndia, India’s largest donation platform.
The proceeds will be used to provide oxygen concentrators, cylinders, ventilators, essential medicines, and ICU units.
