Lebanese superstar, Najwa Karam, revealed Tuesday details about her marriage for the first time, confirming that she was a second wife.
During an interview with the German radio, "Deutsche Welle" Karam opened about her first marriage, saying: "I agreed to this situation for his wife as I refused to be the reason for their separation,".
She explained: " my husband at that time wanted to separate from his wife to marry me, but I refused, as I didn't want to bear the guilt of this separation,".
Karam confirmed that she was hoping not to share her husband with another woman, adding that she didn't care about being labeled as the second wife.
She noted that the reason for their separation was not because of his first marriage.

Karam judged recently the first season of “The Voice Senior”, the Arabic edition of the German popular talent show “The Voice Senior”, alongside superstars Hany Shaker, Samira Said, and Melhem Zein.
On October 7, the show began airing on the “MBC 1” satellite channel.
“The Voice Senior” is based on the concept of “The Voice” and “The Voice Kids”. The participation is only open to elders aged 60 or above, who will face four different phases: the production audition, the blind audition, the knockouts, and the live finale.
It is worth mentioning that Karam, born on February 26, 1966, is a Lebanese singer, songwriter, and fashion icon.
She rose to fame in the 90s and earned the moniker, "Shams el-Ghinnieh" (The Sun of Song), from her eponymous album.
The singer has created her own style which blends traditional and contemporary Arabic music and has helped spread the Lebanese dialect in Arabic music.
In 2011, Karam collaborated with Sony Entertainment and Rotana to produce the Arab World's first 3D music video for her song, "Ma Fi Noum" from her song "Hal Layle... Ma Fi Nom".
She has gained an international audience due to her distinct blend of traditional Lebanese music and contemporary sounds.
