Nagorno-Karabakh: Death Toll of Military Rises to 1221

The defence ministry of the Nagorno-Karabakh region announced on Monday that it had recorded another 44 casualties among its servicemen which raised the military death toll to 1221, according to Reuters.

It is worth mentioning that, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced on Sunday the Azerbaijani army took control of the city of Shusha, the second-largest city in the Nagorno-Karabakh enclave.

In a speech aired on the “AZTV” channel, Aliyev said, “Shusha city has been liberated from occupation.”

last Friday, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov announced that his country’s army took over 4 cities and 3 small towns, in addition to more than 200 villages in Karabakh.

Nagorno-Karabakh is a mountain territory that is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan but populated and governed by ethnic Armenians.
