Lebanese actress-director, Nadine Labaki is set to direct the English-language remake of the 2018 French comedy-drama movie "Les Invisibles" for Netflix.
She is also set to produce the movie along with Graham Broadbent and Pete Czernin, which will be produced under the latter's Blueprint production company.
The original produced was directed by Louis-Julien Petit and based on the novel "Sur la Route des Invisibles: Femmes Dans La Rue" by Claire Lajeunie.
The new version is titled 'The Invisibles' and centers around a day homeless shelter where people congregate for food, warmth and connection. When local officers decide to close the shelter, social workers have three months to reintegrate the women they care for, at any cost.
Labaki is best known for the 2018 Lebanese drama movie 'Capernaum', which became the first Arab female filmmaker's work to be nominated for the best foreign-language feature film category at the 2019 Oscars. Her other feature credits include "Caramel" and "Where Do We Go Now?".
