Nadia Lutfi's Diary to be Released in February 2021

Ayman al-Hakim, the writer of the diary of veteran Egyptian actress Nadia Lutfi, revealed Sunday that Lutfi's diary is expected to be released on her first anniversary, in February 2021.

Al-Hakim denied, during a phone-in with journalist Sayed Ali "Hadrat Al Mowaten" program, broadcast on "Al Hadath Alyoum " TV channel, the rumors that circulated about Lutfi having Alzheimer's before her death.

On February 4, the iconic actress passed away at the age of 83, after a struggle with illness.

She was known for her acting talent, outstanding beauty, and great manners as well as for her impressive list of cinema and television roles.

Lutfi was born in Cairo’s Abdeen district on January 3, 1937. She started acting as a hobby; when she was 10 years old she participated in a play at her school and did very well.

After altering her new name, she was spotted by director Ramsis Naguib, and she took her first role in the 1958 black and white film "Soultan". Her second film was in a smaller role in one of the film landmarks of its time, "Cairo Station".

In the 1970s, the actress's career wound down as Egypt’s “Golden Age” for films came to a close. During her career, Lutfi participated in many films that were based on famous literary works, including Ihsan Abdel Quddus’s “The Dark Glasses”.

She had also presented many outstanding roles such as, “The Seven Girls”, “Naser Salah el Din”, “The sins”, “Enemy Brothers”, and others.

The actress also starred in several films with legendary Egyptian actress Soad Hosny, such as “Lil-Rigal Faqat” (for men only), and Al-Saba’ Banat (The Seven Girls).
