Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy on Tuesday welcomed Morocco’s successful efforts to foil what authorities described as terrorist plots targeting the country’s security, praising the vigilance and professionalism of the Moroccan security services.
In a statement, Fahmy said that any attempt to target Morocco or undermine its stability constitutes an unacceptable attack on the security of an Arab state. He reaffirmed the Arab League’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco, its leadership, government and people.
Fahmy also expressed the League’s support for all legitimate measures taken by Morocco to safeguard its national security, protect its sovereignty and defend its citizens and institutions against terrorist threats.
He stressed the importance of strengthening Arab cooperation through closer security and judicial coordination, as well as enhanced intelligence-sharing among Arab states to confront terrorism in all its forms.
