Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy reaffirmed the organization’s strong support for Lebanon during talks on Wednesday with Lebanese Labor Minister Mohammad Haidar, saying the country remains at the heart of the League’s priorities.
The meeting focused on developments in Lebanon amid regional tensions and the impact of the ongoing conflict on the country. Haidar conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, and briefed Fahmy on Lebanon’s humanitarian and political needs following Israeli attacks.
Fahmy stressed the importance of preserving Lebanon’s civil peace and overcoming internal divisions, reaffirming the Arab League’s solidarity with the Lebanese people. He said the organization would continue supporting efforts aimed at restoring security, stability and Lebanon’s legitimate rights, while helping ease tensions and strengthen regional cooperation.
