Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said on Tuesday that the path towards forming a new Lebanese government is totally blocked, hoping that French President Emmanuel Macron would be able to provide help in his upcoming visit, according to Reuters.
In press statements to al-Joumhuria newspaper, Berri said, "We have entered the tunnel and I do not know how we will get out of it," We have become in a deplorable state, and the government situation is completely blocked."
"Why this blockage? Certainly, the answer is with the President and the Prime Minister-designate," he said, adding, "God willing, French President Emmanuel Macron would be able to do something during his next visit, and we can only wait."
It is worth mentioning that, Macron is scheduled to visit Lebanon later this month; his third visit since the Beirut port bombing, which has exacerbated the country's economic crisis.
