Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, vowed to take a highly offensive and aggressive stance against the United States in 2024, condemning Washington's deployment of strategic assets to the Korean Peninsula and joint military exercises with South Korea.
He said, "If the United States and South Korea continue to confront us militarily, we will not hesitate to take decisive action against them through our nuclear deterrence."
This came at the conclusion of the fifth day of the meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, according to the official Korean Central News Agency.
"We need to respond quickly to a potential nuclear crisis and mobilize all material means, including nuclear power, in an effort to accelerate preparations for the great event of putting all the territory of South Korea under our control," he added.
