The North Korean mission to international organizations in Geneva has called on the international community to condemn the proliferation of US nuclear weapons and take measures to preserve peace.
In a statement reported by the Central News Agency of North Korea, the mission emphasized that "the international community must condemn the danger of nuclear weapons' use and the United States' illegitimate actions, such as nuclear weapons proliferation. Immediate action should be taken to ensure comprehensive peace."
The mission further insisted that the US should "cease its criminal acts and ongoing violations, and dismantle the international disarmament system."
North Korea accused the US of threatening and blackmailing sovereign states by deploying its strategic nuclear weapons across the world.
According to North Korea's statement, the country considers itself a "responsible nuclear state," assuring that it will not pose a threat to countries that respect its sovereignty and security interests.
