North Korea has vowed to continue its satellite launch program, asserting its sovereign rights amidst global criticism.

This move, highlighted by the recent successful deployment of a reconnaissance satellite, marks a significant escalation in the isolated nation's space ambitions.

Deputy Minister Kim Song Jeong of North Korea firmly stated that criticism and sanctions from the United States and its allies would not deter the country from pursuing its goals in space technology.

This assertion underscores Pyongyang's determination to enhance its capabilities in the face of international sanctions.

The statement from North Korea's foreign ministry was timed strategically, just hours ahead of a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York that was called to address Pyongyang's satellite launches.

These actions challenge the UN Security Council resolutions that explicitly prohibit North Korea from using ballistic missile technology.

Despite the international community's efforts to curb North Korea's missile and space programs through sanctions, Pyongyang continues to demonstrate its technological advancements.

The country's insistence on further satellite launches signals its commitment to expand its presence in space, a move that could have significant implications for regional security.

This development comes after two failed attempts to launch reconnaissance satellites earlier this year, highlighting both the challenges and the resolve of the North Korean regime in advancing its space technology amidst global isolation and sanctions.
