Kim Kang Il, Vice-Minister of National Defence for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), issued a strong statement on Tuesday, criticizing the United States' military presence and actions in the Korean peninsula. The statement, titled "The U.S. Reckless Military Bluff and Moves for Escalating Tensions Will Only Increase Security Instability of Its Mainland," accused the U.S. of exacerbating regional tensions and threatening sovereign states through the deployment of nuclear strategic assets.

According to Kim, recent demonstrations of U.S. military power, including the arrival of a nuclear submarine at Pusan Port in South Korea and the planned flight of a B-1B bomber over the peninsula during South Korea's "Army Day," are intended to assert dominance and pressure the DPRK. He described these actions as an attempt to "save face" amidst the U.S.'s perceived strategic disadvantage in the region.

Kim further emphasized that the Korean People's Army (KPA) is closely monitoring U.S. activities and is fully prepared to defend the DPRK against any threats. He warned that North Korea reserves the right to take "unpredictable strategic" measures to counter U.S. provocations and secure the DPRK’s sovereignty. The statement indicated that future actions could target U.S. security concerns and reiterated North Korea's commitment to maintaining a strong war deterrent.

The escalation comes amid rising military activities in the region, including joint air drills between U.S. and South Korean forces and the deployment of U.S. naval assets, which the DPRK views as provocations. Kim's statement warned that North Korea would not stand by passively but would respond with decisive actions to ensure regional stability and national security.
