Myanmar's Minister of Information, U Htein Lin, has called for deeper media cooperation among BRICS countries and Global South nations, saying stronger information exchanges could help advance economic development, cultural understanding and international collaboration.
Speaking to TV BRICS during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Htein Lin said media partnerships could serve as an important bridge connecting countries through the exchange of knowledge, technology and professional expertise.
He said greater cooperation among broadcasters, news agencies and media organizations would contribute to building trust, improving communication and promoting a more balanced understanding of national perspectives and development priorities.
The minister also highlighted opportunities for joint training programmes, technology exchanges and collaborative media projects, describing them as practical tools for strengthening ties between emerging economies.
Htein Lin added that enhanced cooperation in the information sector could support broader efforts to deepen relations among BRICS members and countries across the Global South, while promoting cultural exchange and people-to-people connectivity.
