Mustafa Meets Palestinian Leader Amal Hamad to Discuss Escalating Situation in Palestinian Territories

Ambassador Dr. Faed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector at the League of Arab States, met Wednesday with Palestinian leader Amal Hamad, former Minister of Women’s Affairs and former member of the Central Committee of the Fatah movement, to discuss recent developments in the Palestinian cause.

The meeting focused on mounting challenges facing Palestinians amid what officials described as escalating Israeli measures across Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. Both sides also addressed the approval by the Israeli Knesset of a law allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners, stressing the need for urgent action by the international community, including the United Nations and the International Criminal Court.

They further discussed restrictions on freedom of worship in Jerusalem, including limits on Muslim and Christian access to holy sites, calling such measures violations of international law and the historical status quo in the city.
