The Muslim World League (MWL) has issued a formal statement of solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain, backing the nation's efforts to counter activities that threaten its security and sovereign stability. The announcement underscores a growing regional consensus on the importance of protecting national borders and internal peace from external interference and subversive movements.
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, emphasized that the stability of Bahrain is integral to the security of the wider Islamic world. The League praised Bahrain's proactive measures in dismantling networks aimed at destabilizing the kingdom and spreading discord among its citizens.
"The Muslim World League stands firmly alongside the Kingdom of Bahrain in all measures it takes to preserve its security and protect its achievements," the statement read. The MWL also lauded the Bahraini government's commitment to the rule of law and its continuous efforts to promote a culture of moderation and coexistence, which serves as a barrier against extremist ideologies.
The support from the Mecca-based organization comes at a critical time as Gulf nations enhance their security cooperation. By aligning with Manama, the Muslim World League reinforces its role not just as a religious entity, but as a significant diplomatic voice advocating for political stability and the rejection of violence and terrorism across the region.
The statement concluded by calling on the international community to support sovereign states in their legitimate right to defend their territories and people against organized threats and hostile agendas.
