The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, expresses its solidarity with Algeria in the wake of the forest fires that have resulted in several deaths and injuries.
The Council also extends its heartfelt condolences to the Republic of Algeria and the families of the victims affected by this tragedy, praying to Almighty Allah to grant a swift recovery to those injured.
It stressed that the world is facing challenging changes in the global climate, resulting in the outbreak of fires and a significant rise in temperatures across various regions. These developments necessitate urgent action to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.
The Council added that the upcoming COP28 conference, which will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates at the end of the year, offers hope for effective solutions to this issue, which currently poses a threat to life on planet Earth.
