Elon Musk has become the first person in history whose net worth has surpassed $800 billion, reaching $852.5 billion on February 4, according to figures cited by Russian media.

Musk’s fortune now exceeds the gross domestic product of around 169 countries worldwide, placing his personal wealth above the economies of nations such as Belgium and Argentina, and just 1.8 times smaller than the GDP of Turkey.

The milestone further cements Musk’s position at the top of the global rich list, opening a wide gap between him and other billionaires. His wealth is estimated to be nearly three times larger than that of Larry Page, one of the world’s wealthiest tech figures.

Musk’s net worth has surged in recent weeks following a deal in which SpaceX acquired his artificial intelligence venture xAI, boosting the overall valuation of his business empire. Just six weeks ago, Musk became the first individual to cross the $600 billion threshold, highlighting the extraordinary pace of his wealth accumulation.

According to the figures, Musk’s fortune is now larger than the GDP of roughly 90 percent of the world’s countries, including Belgium, whose economy is valued at about $717 billion, and Ukraine, with a GDP of approximately $210 billion. By contrast, only 22 countries have economies larger than Musk’s net worth, led by the United States, China, Germany, India, and the United Kingdom.
