As part of the celebrations marking 30 years of Korea-Egypt relations, the Korean Cultural Center in Cairo will host a musical performance on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
This event is part of Korea Week, which also features Korean National Day, a Korean Tourism Evening, and the Ambassador’s Taekwondo Championship.
The concert will showcase the Korean band ‘TTamTTi’, founded in 2003 and composed of four members with disabilities. The band is famous for its unique style, blending traditional Korean rhythms known as ‘Samulnori’ with contemporary visual and musical elements, delivering an artistic message that underscores music’s power to inspire hope and overcome challenges.
The band’s name, ‘TTamTTi’, symbolizes the value of perseverance and the deeper meaning behind struggle. In 2012, the band released its first album, Journey of Hope, reflecting its commitment to innovative modern Korean music.
Over more than two decades, ‘TTamTTi’ has created groundbreaking works that merge music with personal narratives and multimedia, offering audiences extraordinary artistic experiences. Through their performances, they have brought traditional Korean music to global audiences while also raising awareness of disability and shining a light on the remarkable talents of people of determination.
The band’s journey to Egypt reflects its members’ spirit of determination and resilience, making this event more than a celebration—it is a message of hope, carrying new challenges and aspirations.
The performance will feature a blend of the haegeum, keyboard, and the world music group ‘Gongmyoung’, delivering a rich fusion of tradition and innovation that highlights the cultural connection between Korea and Egypt.
In his remarks, Oh Sungho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt, emphasized that the performance demonstrates the depth of relations between Egypt and Korea and highlights the vital role of culture in fostering mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.
