Munich Authorities decided to cancel Christmas market, because of the Rapid deterioration of Covid-19 epidemic spreading in the country, according to Dieter Reiter, Mayor of Munich.

Reiter said; “The tragic situation in our clinics and the rapid spread of covid-19 did not leave me any choice. Anything or any event will be irresponsible, as it will also increase the risk of infection.

Moreover, it will be bad, especially for all workers in clinics, who work to their utmost.”

He demonstrated that Marienplatz, the location of the Christmas market in the central square in Munich, it is impossible to limit the number of customers and to ensure compliance of the so-called G2 rules, by which only vaccinated people can meet. That is why the local authorities cancel the Christmas market.

At the same time, Reiter said that the city administration considers paying compensation to the event organizers, who incur heavy financial loses.

The Mayor also indicated that establishing markets in Christmas is very possible with a limited number of people and compliance with G2Plus rule, which accepts only the vaccinated or the people who have negative rapid test for Covid-19.

The date indicated that the total number of death rate rose to 98274 after 294 new deaths were recorded.
