Hosein Abedini, Deputy Representative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in the United Kingdom, stated that the Iranian regime's resort to a socio-economic "scorched earth" policy reflects the dead-end of the "preservation of the system" doctrine.
He emphasized that the mullahs are now sacrificing every vital artery of the Iranian people to secure a few additional days in power.
Abedini said: "The decision for a comprehensive internet blackout over recent months, occurring alongside the devastating external war, was not merely a passing security measure. It is a deliberate economic crime that has crushed the lives of millions. As the regime’s military pillars crumble following the death of Ali Khamenei, the authorities chose to sever the livelihoods of 10 to 15 million Iranians who rely entirely on digital platforms. This reality has even been acknowledged by the mullahs' own state media, such as the Jahan-e Sanat newspaper, which admitted to a 70 percent collapse in sales across broad sectors."
He added: "Masoud Pezeshkian and his powerless government offer nothing but empty promises within a state drowning in financial deficits and debt. The regime is fully aware that cutting the internet leads to social catastrophe, but it views the livelihoods of Iranians as a marginal detail compared to its obsession with security control, preventing popular organization, and restricting the flow of information regarding the collapse of the Velayat-e Faqih structure."
Continuing his statement, Abedini noted: "In tandem with this economic repression, the regime is desperately trying to repair its eroded prestige through an escalation of political executions. Recently, the religious dictatorship sent eight members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) to the gallows. Among those executed were Vahid Bani Amerian and Abolhassan Montazer. This brutal attempt to intimidate the generation of the uprising will only serve as fuel, accelerating the inevitable final fall of this terrorist regime."
Abedini explained: "The external war has become an internal tool for the mullahs to attempt to reset society under extreme pressure. However, the reality on the ground confirms that the Iranian people no longer see this authority as anything other than an occupying enemy. The organized Resistance Units across all cities are currently working with precision to channel this public anger, preparing for the moment of the great explosion that will topple the machinery of repression."
Abedini emphasized: "Iran today stands on the threshold of a new dawn. Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan and the announcement of the Provisional Government to transition sovereignty to the people represent the only democratic alternative capable of saving the country from chaos, poverty, and war. The era of Velayat-e Faqih ended with the death of Khamenei, and what we see today are the final death throes of a regime facing its inevitable fate at the hands of the people's will."
Abedini concluded: "The international community is called upon today to stop betting on illusions and to recognize the right of the Iranian people and their Resistance Units to overthrow this regime, which has brought nothing but destruction to the region and paralysis, poverty, and executions to the Iranian people."
