MSF: Gaza Offensive Is a War on Life

The head of the regional media office for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), Inas Abu Al-Khalaf, has stated that the Israeli offensive on Gaza amounts to a war on every facet of life in the Palestinian enclave.

Speaking to Palestinian media outlets, Abu Al-Khalaf said, “This is not just a war on infrastructure or militants — it is a war targeting all aspects of life in Gaza.” She warned that the ability of MSF to continue delivering medical assistance in the besieged territory is now in serious jeopardy.

“We don’t know if we can continue offering medical aid in Gaza. What happened to the patients at Al-Ahli Hospital is tantamount to a death sentence,” she said, referring to recent Israeli attacks that have crippled hospital operations.

Since the resumption of the Israeli assault, MSF has lost two of its medical personnel in Gaza, Abu Al-Khalaf confirmed. She also condemned what she described as the indiscriminate targeting of healthcare facilities by Israeli forces, stressing that “there is no justification for this level of aggression.”

Médecins Sans Frontières has repeatedly called for the protection of medical workers and facilities, as required under international humanitarian law. The group says ongoing strikes are pushing Gaza’s already-collapsing healthcare system beyond its limits.
